"You are Strong but  You are Fragile as well!". 

Do You need more Balance in your Life? Do You get enough Rest, or Sleep? Are YOU STRESSED, FRAZZLED or EXHAUSTED?

Are you trying to excel in your career, parent 1 or more kids, clean the house, cook all the meals, attend to the dog's needs, maintain a social life, drink enough water, exercise,  text everyone back, stay sane, survive a pandemic, be Perfect and be happy! 

Are you an Entrepreneur or Parent who regularly gets their "ME" time after the kids are in bed or all the chores are done or the office work is completed instead of allowing for sufficient self-care every day & getting a good night's sleep every night?

The benefits of Balancing Salt in your diet (ie Potassium -K, Sodium-Na, Chlorine- Cl) & eating a Mediterranean Diet:---

Did you know Salt and potassium are hydrating?  


Rather than drinking plain water between meals, put a tiny pinch of good quality salt (sixteenth) and a little bit of lemon juice in your glass of water, or have small amounts of water with food.


Salt (NaCl & K) are important for many body functions- hydration within the cell or outside the cells in the blood, for optimal blood pressure regulation, good digestion including absorbing nutrients & glucose regulation,  optimal body pH & nerve function.

Salt & Potassium are also called electrolytes.


Potassium is abundant in fruit (eg lemons), vegetables and other foods.


Having the correct balance of Na & K is important.

Traditionally, salt was used to preserve food.

With Modern day lifestyles & processed foods, having too much NaCl can tip the balance between optimal K:Na ratio.


D.A.S.H diet- Dietary Approach to Stop Hypertension- that is a diet high is fruit and vegetables (which contains potassium) which is part of the Mediterranean Diet/lifestyle approach in many countries.

The  importance of water & good hydration in the body:- Water is:

  • is life-giving
  • it counteracts fatigue
  • it enhances  skin radiance
  • it can prevent digestive problems (some exceptions)
  • It calms the mind and provides satisfaction
  • It is refreshing and easily absorbed by the body

One Ayuvedic Medicine recommendation states - Sipping hot boiled water regularly throughout the day, assists in body cell water penetration for energy and flushing toxins/metabolic waste ("AMA") out of the body. Adding spices/herbs depending on your body type (Vata, Pitta, Kapha) can have further hydrating and healthy  digestion ("AGNI").

The word "Diet" comes from the Greek word "Diaita", which translates to "Way of Life".

Some of the fittest, happiest, longest living people live in the "Blue Zone" countries including Ikaria (Greece), Okinawa (Japan), Ogliastra (Sardinia), Loma Linda (California) etc. However, over time the traditional ways of life have been tainted by Western style Diets & lifestyles in some areas.
